Sanitarium launches Plantwell superfood plant milks with big health benefits

Sanitarium Health Food Company™ has launched a new generation of plant milks with clinically proven superplant and superfood ingredients to deliver targeted health benefits in every delicious serve.

The ground-breaking PLANTWELL™ range includes a high protein soy milk with natural plant ingredients, such as seaweed calcium to build bone density, and prebiotic fibres to nurture gut flora; a tasty cholesterol lowering oat milk with plant sterols; and a delicious almond milk with powerful beta glucans to strengthen immune defences.^

Pioneered by Sanitarium’s expert innovation team and made at the company’s NSW Central Coast facility, the PLANTWELL range is tipped to revolutionise Australia’s plant milk category.

Sanitarium Brand Manager and dietitian Anja Laudrin led the project with the aim of harnessing the power of clinically proven superplants to create naturally functional plant milks that meet genuine consumer needs.

“We’ve worked for more than four years researching superfood and superplant ingredients and balancing tastes and textures to create a delicious range of versatile plant milks with science-backed health benefits. Grown by nature. Proven by science,” said Ms Laudrin.

“This has included reviewing and collating comprehensive scientific evidence to substantiate the food-health relationships of key ingredients and notifying FSANZ, so we are able to use and communicate the clinically proven superplants and their health benefits.

Sanitarium has led the way for plant milks in Australia since it introduced soy milk in 1986. We’re excited to be launching PLANTWELL and we will continue researching the latest science and driving product innovation, so we can make healthy food and beverages that are delicious and accessible to all Australians.”

PLANTWELL milks are highly versatile. They can be enjoyed in any way consumers would use regular dairy or plant milks, including in hot and cold beverages. The PLANTWELL milks received rave reviews in consumer taste and usage testing with people calling out the delicious, mild taste and smooth creamy texture. While big on taste, it’s the innovative use of proven superfoods that makes each PLANTWELL product an Australian first.
