Apple cinnamon toasties

A great tasting, healthy lunch or afternoon snack that your kids will love.

Ingredients

  • 12 slices wholemeal bread, crusts removed 
  • 1x 425g can apple pie filling or stewed apples
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ cup sultanas
  • 1 tsp honey

Method

  1. Step 1

    Place apple, cinnamon, sultanas and honey in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Step 2

    Using a toasted sandwich maker, or non- stick pan, place one slice of bread on hot plate.
  3. Step 3

    Put a spoonful of apple mix in the middle and then another slice of bread on the top and close sandwich maker. Cook until golden brown on both sides.

Tips

  • Stewed pears could also work well in this recipe.
