Golden turmeric hummus

Turmeric give a burst of yellow colour and combines subtly with the ingredients of this hummus. Easy to make and excellent to have on hand in the fridge for a quick snack on the run.

Ingredients

  • 2 x 400g can chickpeas, drained
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 2 tbs tahini
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp oil

Method

  1. Step 1

    Place all ingredients except oil in a food processor and process until well combined
  2. Step 2

    Gradually add oil while processing until smooth and creamy.
  3. Step 3

    Makes 2 cups. Serves 10.

Tips

  • Keep hummus in fridge. Excellent snack for work or school with vegetable sticks and crackers.
  • Add a pinch of black pepper to boost turmeric’s antioxidant power.
